A 10-day leisure trip based in Bandung, the 'Paris of Java', riding the surrounding active volcanoes, rainforest, forest roads and highland village lanes for three to four hours a day. Vehicles carry the group up to the high ground, and evenings are for strolling Braga Street, trying local restaurants and watching a Sundanese angklung performance. Open to riders with two or more years of forest-road experience.

Kawah Putih, a volcanic sulfur lake at 2,430 m, was crowded with weekend visitors. Mist or cloud drifted over the lake, and the scene felt unreal and beautiful. Seeing how strangers live made it a trip that left me grateful for what I have.
