De Chiang Mai au Laos en suivant le Mékong

Depuis Chiang Mai, vous passez par Chiang Rai et le Triangle d'or, prenez le bateau lent sur le Mékong jusqu'à Pakbeng, puis continuez jusqu'à Luang Prabang et Vang Vieng, au Laos. Vous faites aussi halte dans des villages de minorités montagnardes.

Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang & Vang Vieng, Laos

A relaxed ride from Chiang Mai through Chiang Rai, Thailand's northernmost province, and the Golden Triangle, across the border and along the Mekong to Luang Prabang in Laos (in 2024 it continued to Vang Vieng). The stretch to Pakbeng is done by Mekong slow boat, and the pace leaves time to see hill-tribe life and culture. Open to anyone who can ride 100 km a day.

Set off for Laos with our bikes and spent eight days there. It is a country whose beauty is its people, with their simple, gentle smiles. Every turn of the wheels was full of passion, and just as full of happiness. I feel I grew a little on the saddle.

Ten of us rode through Laos for nine days, from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. We passed Nam Ngum Lake, Vang Vieng's Blue Lagoon and Kasi, then saw Kuang Si Falls. More than a bike ride, it made me pause and think about life and happiness. Above all, meeting fun, kind people was what made me happy.
